Re: Experience with judges
Rajko Rotner judged here in Iceland in 2006. I think he is straightforward and fair as far as I can tell, I can really only remember how he liked my dog though, couldn't tell you how he was regarding the mini's because my dog that he judged that time is a giant. His critique was short, to the point and in my opinion fair. (My bitch won BOB, CAC & CACIB that time)

Can anyone tell me any tips regarding to these judges? How are they with taller dogs? thanks

Hi Astrid
I have shown for Svante Frisk. He is a breeder of fox- lakeland and jack russel terrier. He likes good coat and grooming, elegance, movements and is not too fussy about size.
Hope this might help you. Good luck!

Re: Experience with judges
I commented on Mr. Skalin on page 1, here it is again:
With regards to Eeva Rautala, she has not judged miniature schnauzers so far in Finland, I think she will make her debute next weekend. But I did watch her judge affenpinschers at Finnish Winner last year and I do have to say I don't know what the heck she was doing. I have decided not to show under her until I see how she's going to turn out on schnauzers, the entry fees are high enough for me not to try out, I'll let others do that for me.
SF and FI both stand for Finland.
Bo Skalin can absolutely be considered a schnauzer specialist. He lives nowadays in Finland, but he is actually Swedish. You might know the affix Hassanhill's which belongs to Skalin's ex-wife Corinne Kullberg. He looks for a proper type, well-conditioned coat and balanced movement so bring the best to the table when showing under him

Re: Experience with judges
^ To comment on Eeva Rautala, she made her debute last weekend and as a veterinarian is seemed to be quite keen on correct, balanced anatomy (as far as the critiques go that I read). Also she may be a bit fussy about the size.

Rodi is not Norwegian, but Swedish - although he judges a lot in Norway. Both him an his wife are concidered specialists, but are also all round judges.
I have only shown for Rody once myself, but he is generally well liked and is an easy going type of guy. He accepts a lot from the dog regarding temper, and prefer spirited dogs to shy ones. An anatomy and movements man rather than coat, although the colour must be correct.

Thanks. It's wierd, because in judge list he is written like judge from Norway. Can you say what he thinks about size? Grooming?

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe he looks more at what is underneath the skin than what is outside. If there is two dogs and one has better anatomy it will be placed before the dog with flashy coat. But obviously - the dog with both good anatomy and coat will ble placed before both of them if you understand me.
I remember he liked the size of the bitch I showed at the time, and she is 32 cm. But he did not like that she was of the more slender type. He want them robust with good chest. And he is very hands on, so one cannot hide the chest, bad angulation etc under trimmings.
Edit:
Does anyone have comments on Kornelija Butrimova and Hassi Assenmacher?
