Crufts Dog Show
Not sure if this is the right section.
I was wondering who has qualified for Crufts 2009 and who will be going to the show?
I am also happy to try to help you if you don't understand the UK rules or classes at the shows.

Re: Crufts Dog Show
Has the blood test already been done? otherwise it will be to late. Shame, would love a chance to see him in the flesh! There is always the euro show in Ireland 2009 that will also need the blood test!

re cruft
No, unfortunately not, we re-vaccinated both our boys again now and now within one month we will take the samples, but we will not achieve it anyway
We want the test especialy for Sweden and Norway ... England is anyway a little to far to make championship or other things. But who knows

Re: Crufts Dog Show
it's a little bit stupid that the rules about blood test are different.
We was on the Cruft's last year, but our dogs was vaccinated in 07/07 and they have a blood test in 08/07.
Unfortunatelly for young HERUNUMEN it's vallid for Norway and Sweaden, but for Dartagnan it's unfortunatelly not valid
It was really special time on the cruft's 2008. maby we can go in 2010 I hope

Re: Crufts Dog Show
Will you be showing in 2009? I will be there, so long as I get the entry in in time!

Re: Crufts Dog Show
Yes, next year.
I already got ATC, now I should not miss registration dates.
And I will have problems with classes in UK...hate this system
My bitch got ATC with recognized Int CH - does she have rights for CH class?
Ma male has local CH titles, Int CH didnt arrive yet...-I can only enter Open class?

I hope you also have the passport all sorted and blood test done?
We don't have a champion class, they will both have to compete in the OPEN class, which is where our champions compete alongside dogs who don't have a title. So your dog in class 1385 open dog, and your bitch in class 1393 open bitch.

Re: Crufts Dog Show
If you saw my post before -its not our 1st time...All papers and tests are OK.
I know that there can be more whites in Open Class, thats why would be easier to separate classes..but if its not possible -I dont mind.

Re: Crufts Dog Show
OH, didn't realise you had been over to show before!
If a white is not a champion (not not won the equivalent of 3 challenge certificates) it can go into the limit class, or the post grad class if it hasn't won any CC's.
The judge for 2010 likes whites!

Re: Crufts Dog Show
Thank you!
We will be in very short hair (I dont roll coat, only stripp once in half year), planning also visit Irland in May.
Dont think we can get smth on Crufts, just some fun.
Irland is more important.

A lot of people here will be stripping out their minis after our last champ show in December, so the dogs have a new coat for Crufts, there will be a lot of bald dogs running around in another month
I maybe asking you advice on what the classes mean, for Ireland - I should go, as there can't be a closer show to me under FCI rules!

Re: Crufts Dog Show
Main adult classes are (can recieve CAC and CACIB/European Winner title):
Intermedia (15-24 months old)
open (from 15 months)
champion (Champion title)
There is also
Puppy class ( 6-9 month old)
Junior class (from 9 till 18 months)- can recieve Junior European Winner title

Re: Crufts Dog Show
Which class would you choose, if your dog was between 15 months and 18 months??
Jo
Re: Crufts Dog Show
I would take Junior Class if I would need European Junior Winner title.
If I know that there are better dogs available and we go try our luck- then Intermedia- the best chances to have minimum dogs in class.

Re: Crufts Dog Show
Can somebody help me with benching question?
What is exact size on Crufts?
My dogs are used to stay in their own cages at show, mostly together...so I have now problem which size would fit and what should I bring...

ooo I love this judge! She judged minis at the club show in Stockholm this year (the day before world's show). her description hangs on a wall together with awards:). its a huge pleasure, being with her in a ring. Very nice person!

Re: Crufts Dog Show
I will expect to see you at the show next year then!
The benches will fit a crate for one mini, mine are about 43cm wide and there is usually some extra room at the side and about 60cm long with room behind the crate to put bags.
If bringing a wire crate it is worth having something to cover it, to stop the public poking at the dogs through the bars.
